Casting
Making of simple and more complicated plaster forms,
the technique of casting ceramics,
specific features of work with porcelain material.
Of the casting program, the 2011 season will include O1 – Plaster Forms
I with Ivoš Sláma.
Plaster Moulds I
- Name of the course:
- O1 – Plaster Moulds I
- Objective of the course:
- learning the entire technical procedure of production of simpler two-part
forms, including cutting out models and reproduction of a single product using
plaster moulds
- Suitable for:
- medium advanced
- Entrance requirements:
- completion of course M1 or
experience at this level
- Length of the course:
- total of 55 hours (7 days), 14 hours of theory + 41 hours of
practice
- Contents of the course:
- two-part form for the handle of a mug, including design of the model,
plaster template for stretching a frame, production of plaster plates and
stamps; you will try out the new form for making ceramics

Casting Ceramics
- Name of the course:
- O2 – Casting Ceramics
- Objective of the course:
- learning the whole process of casting in plaster forms, including prevention
of defects, use of cast elements for further creative work with ceramic
material
- Suitable for:
- medium advanced and advanced
- Entrance requirements:
- completion of course M1 or
experience at this level
- Length of the course:
- total of 55 hours (7 days), 14 hours of theory + 41 hours of
practice
- Contents of the course:
- figural ceramics cast in one-part, two-part and multi-part moulds, casting
on a core, retouching, special adjustment of the body and cutting out relief,
pressing in moulds, subsequent retouching and completion, preparation of
one’s own template for sprayed decoration and testing it

Plaster Moulds II
- Name of the course:
- O2F – Plaster Moulds II
- Objective of the course:
- consists in learning the entire working and technical procedure of making
several-part and wedge moulds with subsequent testing of functionality
- Suitable for:
- medium advanced and advanced
- Entrance requirements:
- completion of course O1 or
experience at this level
- Length of the course:
- total of 55 hours (7 days), 14 hours of theory + 41 hours of
practice
- Contents of the course:
- making several-part plaster moulds for a small model of one’s own making,
including testing functionality

Porcelain – Potential of the
Material

- O3 – Porcelain – Potential of the
Material
- Objective of the course:
- learning the basic working and technical process concerned with reproduction
and individual creation using porcelain material
- Suitable for:
- medium advanced and advanced
- Entrance requirements:
- completion of course O2 or
experience at this level
- Length of the course:
- total of 55 hours (7 days), 14 hours of theory + 41 hours of
practice
- Contents of the course:
- In this course, the participant encounters the technically most difficult
ceramic material. The instructor presents various techniques in favour of
reproduction and in favour of individual creation.
